Our Methodology

Zodiac Compatibility Scoring

Our compatibility scores for each of the 144 zodiac pairings are calculated using a weighted model that draws on four factors:

• Elemental compatibility (30%): Fire, earth, air, and water signs have traditional affinity patterns. Same-element pairings and complementary elements (fire-air, earth-water) score higher on base compatibility.
• Modal compatibility (25%): Cardinal, fixed, and mutable modalities interact in characteristic ways. Same-modality pairings can create friction or deep resonance depending on the signs involved.
• Angular relationship (25%): The degree of separation between two signs on the zodiac wheel — trine (120°), sextile (60°), opposition (180°), square (90°), or conjunction (0°) — has well-established interpretive meaning in traditional astrology.
• Planetary rulership harmony (20%): We assess whether the ruling planets of each sign have traditionally harmonious or challenging relationships.

Scores are expressed as percentages and should be interpreted as indicators of natural ease or friction in the relationship — not as predictions of relationship success or failure. Many highly compatible couples have "challenging" sign pairings; many difficult relationships have "compatible" signs. Sun sign compatibility is one layer of a much richer astrological picture.

Tarot Card Meanings

Our tarot card meanings are grounded in two primary sources: the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition (the most widely used system in English-language tarot) and pre-20th century cartomantic traditions that predate the Rider-Waite deck. We cross-reference these with contemporary tarot scholarship and practitioner consensus.

For each card we document: the card's number and suit (for Minor Arcana), its traditional symbolic imagery, the upright meaning, the reversed meaning, common interpretations in love, career, and personal growth contexts, and associated astrological or elemental correspondences.

Psychic Platform Reviews

Our psychic platform reviews are based on real paid sessions. Our research team creates anonymous accounts and conducts sessions with multiple advisors on each platform. We score each platform across six dimensions:

• Advisor quality (30%): Specificity, insight, and perceived accuracy of readings.
• Vetting and screening (20%): How rigorous is the platform's advisor acceptance process?
• Pricing transparency (15%): Are rates clear upfront? Are there hidden fees?
• Intro offer value (15%): How generous and genuinely accessible is the first-session deal?
• User experience (10%): Website and app usability, search and filter tools, booking flow.
• Satisfaction guarantee (10%): Does the platform offer refunds or credits for unsatisfactory sessions?

Platforms are reviewed and re-scored every six months to account for changes in advisor quality, pricing, and platform policies.

We publish negative findings about platforms we have affiliate relationships with when the evidence warrants it.
